UberMedia, located in Pasadena, California, builds applications and web-based services that make it easier for users to find, follow and communicate with others on Twitter and other social media platforms and for those on Twitter to attract a relevant following.

We are seeking an experienced Web Developer who will be responsible for implementing and maintaining web based applications in an agile and collaborative environment. The successful candidate will be given requirements, and design mockups and create a plan, create deliverable estimations and execute on the plan to deliver high quality products.

• Taking designs from requirements and mockups to high quality, fully functioning web applications.

• Five years of hands-on web development experience across all phases of the product lifecycle.
• Must have experience in working in complex, high capacity websites using the following technologies: Linux, REST, Ruby, JavaScript, CSS, and HTML4/5.
• Experience using development tools similar to Firebug, Google Chrome Web Developer tools, YSlow and proxies.
• Experience leveraging open source JavaScript libraries such as YUI, JQuery, Ext-JS Google Closure and others.
• Experience using asset/image manipulation tools to convert mockups into final product assets.
• Knowledge of page optimization to reduce latency and bandwidth including the perception of those metrics.
• Experience taking products from design mockups to functioning web pages.
• Strong technical background together with the ability to work closely and cooperatively with development staff.
• Must be able to work on multiple projects and be able to multi-task when needed to complete tasks.
• Knowledge of the differences between the common browsers and their specific versions.
• Ability to work in an agile, self-driven, complex environment with multiple and changing priorities.

• Experience working on large systems with heavy data background.
• Knowledge of GIMP, Paint.NET and Adobe Photoshop.
• Interest in User Experience Design (UED) to make intuitive controls by working with the design team.
• Developing web based applications for mobile devices.
• Knowledge of internationalization and localization including asset storage, encodings and cultural differences.
